life with the boys.

Can’t something go right? January 31, 2008

Please?

Winston started limping last week. The hip dysplasia surgery will have to come sooner than we thought. Gmail decided to eat 400 emails over the last month… so I have a few irritated customers, and some friends who think I hate them. I filled out and notorized the wrong birth certificate form, need to do another (or wait 6-8 months!). My knitpicks harmony needles broke (I didn’t even call for replacements… I WON’T be ordering more of those). I am almost at the toe of the damn socks.

Here is my mini sob story about the needles. I was knitting away, and snap. The wood broke at the join. broke. I’m not rough on needles. Then, as I set them down to regroup and get a drink (not that kind of drink, people!), Joey *stepped* on a needle from the other circ the socks are on. You have GOT to be kidding me.

The socks (see the upper left corner for the damaged needles).

Urgh.

But, the boys are just being so good lately, so I guess it makes everything all better. Here they are doing a dance for me (and check out the bed head/Dennis the Menace look!) :)

and Chris wanted me to take a pic of his latest lego creations!  I love his robots!

I know things will start going smoother… I just want that to happen now.  But who am I kidding?

I love my yarn club. It seems to arrive when I need it the most. I didn’t get a chance to show off last month’s loveliness, but here are my last 2 months of goodness-

December-

and January-

Last month was Bambewe, the colorway, Moonshadow. I am going to work up these with it, cause I think it will show off the colors beautifully. I don’t have any clue what I will do with this month’s, but Angelina did send a great pattern to go with it. It’s a tencel blend and just luxurious!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, these beauties came from Zen String, one of my most favorite yarn stores (though there are a couple more than I window shop at daily!). Paulie got it for me for Christmas. That man knows how to please a lady :D .

I am so mad. January 17, 2008

This is what I woke up to.

That thing has to weigh 500 pounds. It was drug about 20 feet, and then came crashing down. I don’t think we can fix it (or Paul doesn’t), nor do I want to replace that pricey thing. Everything else in the photo, minus the race car, was relocated by the wind as well.

Seriously, check out the tree behind the slide thingy. It’s permanently leaning!

Grrrr. So much for outdoor summer meals.

Merry Christmas, happy new year, and happy Bday to Chris. January 15, 2008

It zoomed fast. I blinked and here we are, mid January. Chris turned 6. SIX. Ahhhh, I get all teary eyed thinking about it. Here he is on one of his favorite Christmas presents.

Diggerman

Hmmm, more pictures? Here is the Christmas morning chaos.

And this one. My maniacal son, with a present from his uncle. Why does my super amazing (insert a *heavy* dose of sarcasm here) little brother think it’s ok to purchase annoying presents EVERY year. I do have to say that I am appreciative that it wasn’t made in China, and but the rest puts me in a bad mood. They put age recommendations on packages for reasons, and I don’t think Chris is even remotely close to 9. How about Joey? 3 going on 9??? Yeah. They both got a dart gun.

I was also super crafty! I finished almost everything on my list, here are a couple things-

the scarf-

the zip pouch (yes, that’s a installed zipper you see)-

the waldorf baby’s outfit-

So that’s it for now.  I need to go help Paulie, who is doing dishes.  I love that man.
